I want to download in my PC the video stream of a conference that is set up that when you click on the links -- Window Media Player automatically opens up and plays it. The site says it is set up that way, deliberately. I can't find anything on WMP to allow me to download it.

I went to http://vixy.net/ for their online converter and they require a URL. But vixy says there is a problem with the URL that comes up in Properties.

I checked -- the file is not protected. (It is from my university where I am on the faculty-- I actually have burned DVDs of it but I am traveling and I forgot them. I am writing an article for a journal due Monday.)

Can anyone help? I don't always have access to the internet so I need to play portions as I need them.

Right click on the link and select "Save target as..." or "Save link as..."

That only downloads the link to the website -- it does not download the video stream itself.

I really don't know for sure, but try downloading "Internet Download Manager" it might be able to pick it up.

If it doesn't pick it up, try pasting the link inside of it.... it "should" be able to download it.....

    Worth a shot I guess.

    Good luck!

Try Webvideocap , its a small app which allows you to capture .flv (Flash Video) files and RTSP/MMS video streams.
