Probably an easy fix, does anyone know how to make it sounds my downloads don't clear from the downloads box on firefox? I think I changed a setting and I can't figure out what I did. The downloads aren't deleting but it takes me so long to find them because I usually don't remember the name of the downloaded file.

Download list is filling up as it goes. Did you mean to want to clear the list?

Tried Tools->Downloads, then hit the "clear list" at the bottom right of the dialog?

    cheers ...

im not sure, but firefox removes them by default when completed.

    installed DownloadStatusbar addon.
and enable "remember what i downloaded" in pref>history.

btw, you should use this addon anyways. it is a GREAT addition
    to firefox.

To keep the download history in the box:

Tools >> Options >> Privacy >> Check "Remember what I've downloaded"

If the box doesn't show up at all:

Tools >> Check "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file"

If the download history is in the box only until, but not after, restarting Firefox:

Tools >> Options >> Privacy >> Uncheck "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox" *Click "Settings..." to customize if you want some things to be cleared, but not your download history
