I have heard of people doing this and I think it would be really cool to have moving wallpaper in the background. I don't have vista ultimate however. I have Vista Premium 64 bit sp2, I have seen some tutorial videos but they seem a little sketchy and I'm afraid I'll screw something up and I don't want to reinstall vista for the 4th time. Is there a simple way to do this? I want to find out how to do it here rather than from some little kid on youtube. Also I'm a big gamer and I was wondering if it would mess up the performance of my computer?

Has anybody done this and had any problems?

    1) Dream Scene is uselss, believe me, after you go through all the hassle of getting DreamScene, you will notice that u never really make any good use of it, I mean really, how often do u find yourself watching the desktop of your notebook? for meh, never, there's always something to do on the computer.

    2) I have made a HOW TO ENABLE DREAMSCENE GUIDE on any version of Vista, not through some stupid VLC player, but the actual dreamscene from Microsoft, but I was not allowed to post it here. So I am not sharing this guide with you unfortunately :(

    3) My guide reperesents a step by step guide to hacking the windows files to enable DreamScene, but I have tested it on Windows Vista 32 Bit. I dont know the impact on a 64 bit version of Vista. If anything goes wrong, you will need to re-install your OS.

Unfortunately, I want to help you but I can't. Forum rules

    kthxbye

and by the way, I tried the VLC player method before, it will not work on Vista, the option that the above guide which mentions right click, choose set video wallpaper or something like that, is never there, no matter what I did. Maybe it was meh, maybe it was not for Vista (just XP), or maybe something in the guide is missing. just to let j00 know in advance.

but my advice to u........don't bother man......I have the guide and know how to enable dreamscene blindly within seconds, but I never use it......what for?? DreamScene = for n00bs

Why do you always think that whatever you believe is the correct way? Or what you think is "cool" or "helpful" isn't or is for others?

I know many people who use VLC player for dreamscene, the link I posted was just the one I got when I typed in VLC and dreamscene to help the OP. It does work.

I didn't say it didn't work or the link u posted is for a wrong guide, I said didn't work for meh, maybe i missed something out, maybe something is missing out from the guide, but when i followed the intructionsk, i couldnt find the option to enable video wall paper. thatls all i said, shared my experience,

and anything i said was an opinion, i did not say it is a rule of thumb and everyone should follow it, this is what forums are for....to share opinions, hand on experiences, otherwise, he can just read reviews about dreamscene..

    nuff said, kthxbye

Simply by your tone when you write, it gives off that effect. "Dreamscene=for n00bz" and rolling you eyes, etc etc. I'm all for opinion, but please re-word the way you say things. Every post I read from you is like deciphering a 11 year old kid trying to be "leet" and a smart a**.
