    Video of Dropbox-https://www.getdropbox.com/screencast

    Tour of Dropbox-https://www.getdropbox.com/tour#1

Basically, it syncs the latest version of files across pc's. I use it daily with my desktop and laptop, put a homework .doc in the folder on my desktop and it syncs to my laptop through the internet with the latest version on my laptop. Godsend of a program and I can't live without it.
I don't work for them or anything, it's just right now they are offering FREE 250mb of space for anyone I refer, plus YOU also get 250 mb for free. Both of us get free space on top of the 2 gb free when you sign up.

To get the extra 250 mb of space, follow this link:

Sign up on the site, install it on your pc, log in and voila. You should see your account have 2.25 gb of space and I will also get 250 mb of space. Can't go wrong. This program is seriously one of the apps. I can't live without.

it's nice and i registered. if it would allow me to chose to sync to an own server instead of only dropbox it would be perfect. then i could sync to my homeserver automatically that way. i like the visuality of it right on the files. like tortoisesvn. i miss that from all other sync-apps.

There are a lot of sites/programs like this. My boss invited me to a handfull of them and they offered more space.

I say the best way to do this is build your own server, in the long run it will be cheaper and you get piece of mind knowing the files are on your own hardware so its private & safe and easier to get large amounts of data fast if needed.

    +1

Could not agree with more. My backups stay where I can get my hand on, now, and not having to rely on an internet connection

    cheers ...

I've tried other programs like Syncplicity, they all fail at the hands of Dropbox. Dropbox is so simple and it blends in with Windows Explorer. It's an amazing program. Thanks to the 1 person who has signed up so far using my referral link! Let's all get some more bonus free space!

    Referral Link-Removed by mod.

For users interested or not to sure about this program, just watch the video screencast to see how easy and useful this program really is.

www.mesh.com is even easier and has more storage..
Furthermore, it has remote desktop to all meshed devices (including macs and mobile gadgets) and I think it will support windows azure, .net, and other things in the future..

Live Sync and Live mesh (2 different program, 1 sync through cloud, 1 direct sync through internet) are both better service in gernal than dropbox. MS has ultrafast servers and offers 5GB space for mesh and unlimited space (it's not really space) for live sync. 5GB space limit is there because it's still in beta.

Live Sync and Mesh also offer things that dropbox doesn't have. E.g. remote control through remote desktop protocol (the fastest) or simplified NAS.
It also has development kit for those of you who are software developers and wants to develop your own add-ons.

i have this installed on my laptop, and on all the desktop pc's in my family i kind of support, along with logmein free. so when someone breaks something or gets infected, i can move software tools to the affected machine. works like a charm!
