Hey guys - just wanted to post a little tip I've found and a configuration I've set up on my twin 160GB x205

    http://caskater4.blogspot.com/

From this website I've managed to set up my system to utilize both hard drives and use an external drive for backup. I've been able to successfully move the entire User folder to a separate drive and have had zero problems with it. I've been using it like this for about a month.

I recently did the same in XP using this guide.

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=49222

Now all My Documents are in D:\ in the internal HD and I back everything up to one of two external HD's. It was easy to do and required no manual registry changes.

It works great when you want to do AV scans and defrags.

Not having to do the registry changes was what turned me on to this solution. I'd been researching the issue ever since I bought this laptop and the only solutions I'd seen to completely move the "user" folder to a second hard drive required either mass changes in the registry or doing a fresh install with the WAIK. I tried both but the seemed to cause problems with Windows Update.

Separating programs and data is ideal.
