I'm planning on installing Windows 7 once the RC1 becomes official. I already have XP installed on C:\ and was wondering if there was a way to get Windows 7 to also install also on C:\.

I know typically, one has to be C:\ and the other D:\ but I was wondering if there is a way to have the W7 drive hidden when XP is loaded thereby allowing it to be called C:\. The same would be reversed where XP drive would be hidden when W7 was loaded, allowing W7 to be called C:\

I really don't know if this is possible, I just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Using D:\ just bugs me

I believe when you load each OS, the default hard drive that it uses is C:.

    Not from previous experience.

XP would be C regardless of what OS you are in, and 7 will be D.

in vista as in win7, you can disable the c: / d: labeling entierly to never see it again :) (except on the console, and where ever you need to enter a full path).

i've done this and like it to see that old legacy die step by step.. :)

Mount Windows 7 Partition as a folder in Windows XP partition. Then, the windows 7 partition will become a folder instead of a "drive" in your windows xp drive (C:\ drive).
