    Dual core drivers?

    Anyone heard about new drivers coming out for dual core cpus? I heard rumors about some coming out around this time of year... :confused:

    ...drivers? You don't need much of a driver for them. You do need to make sure your hardware is configured correctly, but the only reason you need a driver is for power management.

    You don't need drivers for a dual-core CPU. Support is built in to the Windows Vista kernel, and if you have XP then there is a hotfix available on this forum that will enable dual-core support in case it wasn't enabled by HP for you (which it probably was). But there are no drivers for dual core CPUs that I know of.

    And there is also an Athlon64 driver.
    But for newer C2D CPU's and such.You just need a new BIOS upgrade.

    Bios updates are for the motherboard, not the CPU. So that depends on which motherboard you have.
