I have a laptop with a second CRT monitor hooked up via VGA port to extend the desktop. I just enabled the "Extend my Windows desktop on this monitor" option in the Windows display properties.

Problem: Everything works fine except whenever I play an AVI (or any) video file in any media player on the laptop, it correctly plays the video on the laptop screen but it then also activates/plays the same video automatically in full screen mode on the secondary monitor (I also cannot move the mouse pointer to the secondary monitor when this happens). How do I prevent video from playing on the secondary monitor automatically?

It used to work correctly before but I've re-installed XP Pro and now I have this problem. I'm therefore sure I'm just missing a setting somewhere. It's not a media player problem because the same thing happens if I use VLC player, Windows Media Player or Winamp.

I have an Acer 5626 laptop with Nvidia GeForce Go 7300 graphics card.

If I want the video to play on the secondary monitor, I'll move the video on the laptop screen over to the second monitor, and double click on it to play it fullscreen. This is how I used to do it before, using the same setup.
    Any suggestions?
