As some of you may remember I had described a method to edit the Wireless connection icons for the System Notification Area so that they have better contrast than the standard grey and white ones. That thread is now locked for some reason and I wanted to post an update. So I am creating a new thread for the update.

When I applied Win7 SP1 a couple of days ago, PNIDUI.DLL (the file where these icons reside) was replaced and I was back to the ridiculous grey and white icons. But I am glad to report that my editing procedure outlined in this post: How to edit the Wireless icons in PNIDUI.DLL still works just fine. I had saved all my edited exported icon file sets from the last time I did this and I was able to use ResHacker to put them into the newer PNIDUI.DLL that SP1 installed. (I had to move a copy to a work area of course as the Win7 system file protection scheme prevented editing it in place in System32. And rightfully so!)
