    Hi I am using Windows 7 x64 and I need to install vcredist_x86.exe but it keeps ending an error of "Windows Installer has stopped working". Any ideas?

    I believe it's the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)".

    Deleted the last post (but still thanks for the suggestion andyasselin).

    I think I've found an solution: http://chris123nt.com/2009/01/18/sqm-client-causing-crashing-in-windows-7/

    I'm about to reformat into Windows 7 64-bit now since I went back to XP because of this. Hope it works for everyone else and myself. :D

    Edit: Just reformatted and funny though, the vcredist and Windows Live for Gaming now installs fine, I didn't even use that solution in the link above. Strange.
