On a few occasions when I shut down my laptop, I get an application error that says
"McShield.exe - Application Error" and something about 0xc0000008 at location 7c964ed1
(it's something like that I cannot remember) I have McAfee Virusscan Enterprise 8.0i on my laptop. This error pops out with I shut down the computer, but only happened on a few occasions. How can I fix this?

it sounds like a referencing error from the RAM, i'm not sure. Have you messed around with registry keys or program files for McAfee?

hmmm...
i get that message too whenever my RAM is used up... or when i have low virtual memory (i run maybe 5 t0 10 windows opened at once)
lil mayz is right... maybe you did something about the registry keys for your software... -
Doing some research to resolve your problem I came across this:
http://knowledge.mcafee.com/article/515/KB43256_f.SAL_Public.html
3. ISSUE:
An error in MCSHIELD.EXE can occur on shutdown.
The memory address referred to in the error
message is 0x77f966bc or 0x7c964ed1. This
occurred from attempts to close handles that
were no longer valid. BZ 212581
RESOLUTION:
The software only closes valid handles on
shutdown.
It essentially says there that if you update to Patch 11 the error should not occur anymore. To install Patch 11 go here: http://knowledge.mcafee.com/Support...show&forward=nonthreadedKC&externalId=KB40531
I hope this helps.
