To keep it short, I let someone else pre-order my copies of Win7 and I ended up with two copies of the 32-bit version. I went ahead and installed one but soon realized the lack of driver support...and it's the 32-bit version. I'm going to call Microsoft tomorrow, but does anyone know off-hand if they will allow an exchange to the 64-bit version?

If you have not installed it, or used the product key, you should be able to exchange it.

Dude, if the 32-bit lacks native driver support for your specific hardware the 64-bit isn't going to do much better. You're going to have to visit vendor sites to get what you need.

From what I've found Alienware has released drivers for Win7 64, but I can't find the 32-bit drivers anywhere. Now I don't even have an Aero theme to distract me from the horror of my hinges falling apart.
I do still have one copy that is uninstalled, so hopefully they will exchange it for me. If not I guess I could always sell it and buy a 64-bit version. -
Wow, I feel more than dumb right now. When I use the download link that I got from Microsoft it gives me the option of downloading the 32-bit or 64-bit. Disregard this whole thing. Just wow...
Exchanging 32-bit for 64-bit?
