In screen resolution, right click on the blue rectangle that represents the extra screen you do not want, and select Disable. See if that works.

Can you describe the screen you see a little better? I'm not clear as to what is happening on your laptop.

It's easiest to press "prnt scrn", then save the image and upload it.

There's a button in the reply box that, when you put your mouse cursor over it, says insert image...

You need to upload the pics to a host like ImageShack to use the insert image option or

Go to "Go Advanced" underneath the Quick Reply and use the "attachment" option to upload your pics direct from your hard drive.

    cheers ...

You have Windows 7 and you haven't used the snipping tool? You might want to start with that tool.

ok so while i was playing around with the snipping tool (omfg how good is that so simple yet such a need for it) to get the right info across i randomly got extra settings in the extra monitor settings

i was still going to attach a screen shot but when i press upload it comes up with IE cannot display this page... oh well

oh and thanks for pointing out the snipping tool its awesome

Press the print screen button on your keyboard. Top right-hand corner; then open up MS Paint and press CTRL + V or just select Paste. Save the file as a JPEG for ex. on your desktop or something. Use the Go Advanced reply feature on the forum and scroll down the page to Manage Attachments, click the button and browse to the location of the image you saved. After it's done you will see the file attached, you can then close that window and submit the reply.

It's really difficult understanding what your issue is so a print screen of it should definitely help.

Go back to the display dialog and select the 'extra' screen. Try unchecking the 'extend my desktop to this monitor' checkbox and see if that works.

Yeah, well I have two monitors listed, and it doesn't bother me. It doesn't affect anything. And the second monitor, I can't actually change the resolution, so it's fine. My laptop is the same BTW, as it has two monitors listed.

yer except up untill now it was actually ther ie the mouse would wander... and i couldnt set it to actually duplicate it... but now i have set it to only use 1 of them(this option wasnt listed before) maybe it was a bug and this was a fix through WU maybe...?

    anyway thanks for your help.
