im kind of curious about the big gap between the two versions. or is Mozilla just skipping 3.1 3.2 3.2 3.3 3.4 .

3.1 was due out last year but it has been delayed forever, and it brings big enhancements, so Mozilla changed the number from 3.1 to 3.5.

See this, FF4 was due by the end of this year (but is now changed to 3.6, coming in 2010)!: Link

Yeah, the initial start up is painfully slow. After that though, it's ok.

FF 3.0.9 is crashing every time I visit NBR. :(

I have narrowed the problem down to enabling Javascript and hitting the back button after a view when FF will CTS. If I disable Javascript FF doesn't crash. So far this is the only website that crashes on me. I also have this problem on two other laptops. Same exact problem, same workaround.

Oh and it happens both on Vista and XP. ;)

    doesn't crash here.

I'm happy that they fixed the bug, that posting something could hang for ever. was quite annoying on nbr.. :)

3.0.9 was being released, covering many security issues that Mozilla felt that it was necessary.

This might push back a little bit the date of the 3.5b4 release. Saying this, 3.5b5pre has been out. Mozilla can wait to release 3.5b5 instead.

    cheers ...

I don't even remember the last time I used Firefox Preloader. It makes almost no sense nowadays (my 2 cents)

I don't doubt that for some older FF versions.

But taking in consideration that FF has moved on since 2005 - where the Preloader still stays - it makes no sense to me.

    cheers ...

3.010 is just as smooth as Chrome now. I guess my experience with the latter is unofficially over.
