Are there any programs out there for Win7 that allows fan control for a (acer) laptop? Thanks.

Try SpeedFan? Though it doesn't wrok for my 6935G

Nah didnt work here either, it doesnt seem to support that many models, guess it's mainly for stationary computers with specific motherboard brands..
One solution is to just use it on battery (underclocks everything), but its not a good one :/ -
Only Dell has made software to control fans i believe.. On most laptops its completely controlled by the BIOS, so..
If you would have searched, the question would be answered.. -
well i searched, but came up with too many hits go through them all.
the fan has 3 wires, i think one of them is for bios/speed controll.. would it be possible to cut it off and the fan would go full speed? i remember doing that to a fan i had for and old stationary computer, and it was on full speed all the time.. -
I wouldn't touch that with a ten-foot pole
-
its not going to explode
worst case scenario is that i have to twin it back (if the fan doesnt move), whicn isnt such a huge deal.
i'm out of options otherwise, i can use it with batteries only or underclock the card/cpu with a utility, but that kind of sucks, disabling the fan control is my best option i'd say. -

It's very easy to control the fan if you know the way around the onboard EC.
E.g. people can easily make programs which controls the fan speed on acer laptops such as acer aspire one netbook.
E.g. a1ctl, aa1fancontrol -
Any luck finding a program to change the fan speed of the 5650?
-
Nope. I thought i had the Aspire One fan control program working (cant remember its name right now) because the fan went up really high when i started that program, but i guess it was coincidence.
One solution, if you're not gaming, is to use Rivatuner and downclock the card.
