What does everyone like as their favorite VNC client and why?

I use https://secure.logmein.com/home.asp?lang=en
Its very simple, and i can connect to any one of my computers from anywhere -
TightVNC - It's light, simple, small and free. I use it on all of my computers and even use it through my iPod touch.
-
yep, i completely agree.
...And its faster than some other ones ive used...

Tight VNC +1

TightVNC +1 as well. Though the performance for all VNC is horrible compared remote desktop based softwares such as windows live mesh.
-
i like realVNC. im different =D
-
Yeah, i've tried it and tightvnc is more reponsive and faster...
Try that instead.
-
UltraVNC also isn't bad. I don't like the configuration myself.
Most people are easily served by LogMeIn. -
I just use the default remote desktop software that comes with Vista for my remoting needs, which uses the RDP protocol (rather than VNC). Never needed anything else.
-
Correction: "...that comes with Vista BUSINESS/ULTIMATE.". That's the problem.
-
Correction. You can connect FROM (client) any version of Vista. You cannot connect to (host) Vista Basic and Vista Home Premium computers.

If you're looking for speed, VNC is not the way to go. Remote desktop protocol is 10x faster.
The remote desktop or windows live mesh will be much better option. -
Nope. My laptop came with Home Premium. I can remote into other machines just fine using the Remote Desktop Connection software that came with it. But, like surfasb said, if I want to remote into a Vista machine, it needs to be running Business or Ultimate.

afaik, vnc still can't really work on vista with uac enabled, as it can't "see" the secure desktop.
this makes it more or less useless for support (which normally means fiddling with system settings => uac). -
Works just fine under UltraVNC. In fact, I'm sporting it with Windows 7 also.

That's why better tech support software use remote desktop protocol. It saves huge amounts of bandwidth, so much faster than VNC and can work even with UAC...etc.
