Recently my hard drive failed on my primary PC (listed below in signature section). I am in the process of installing a new HD in the PC. In the meantime, my brother-in-law, H, was able to rescue some data from the HD, including Internet Explorer (IE) "Favorites" bookmarks. I was using IE 7 on the primary PC before the HD went down. I am currently using a back-up PC (Dell M1330 with Windows Home Vista 32-bit) with IE 8. Can I simply copy and paste the "Favorites" folder into the "Favorites" on my back-up PC to access the previous PC's bookmarks, or is a more complex process needed? I tried to find this information on Microsoft's Windows website, but am confused because it stated I needed to copy and paste another folder entitled "bookmark.htm", which is not available on the rescued "Favorites" folder from the errant HD.
Thanks for reading and any suggestions.

Thanks much for your informative response. I copied and pasted the Favorites data as you suggested and it worked perfectly, even all the formatting of the various subfolders were preserved completely.
