right now on my sager 2090 i have 2 partitions. One of them is my windows vista 32 bit and one of them is with my games and just important files. So my question is can i use the windows copy that i download open it in while in vista and some wipe the file of vista and leave partition D (important) files and be fine?

lol. i'm not sure what you are getting at here. i think the answer is no. i don't think xp will install from vista, but i could be wrong. why don't you try installing xp from a cd? if you have downloaded a *cough* legit version of xp, can't you burn it to a cd and install that way? word.
-
yeah i don't have a cd.. it so happens i need one to do it.. when i tried burning it to dvd half way through burn it failed dont know. But yeah.. its not a leigt copy and i aint gonna go waste my money on one.. I have a xp copy but its built in to my desktop hdd.
yeah vista is annnoying the living the **** out of me .. i plug in a razer deathadder .. blue screen of death YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! yeah i am about to explode! -
I find it funny how you can't tell that it's drivers related, and not really OS releated
Anyway, we're not discussing unlegit softwares here. -
well its not driver related that problem isnt huge. But yeah there have been more then just one blue screen of death and im sorry i am not gonna wait for the drivers to get better. Like for instance tf 2 stoped working at 55% = blue screen of death. Installation of coh 15 = blue screen of death. Just sick of it. But yeah its no big deal. Also im not satisfied with performance i am getting for games with vista. Call of duty 4 kinda runs slugish with custom mp config as well. So yeah i think ill go to xp. So my only real question is will xp delete my d drive partition? even if just want to delete c partition and install windows there. I would assume it wouldn't and i should be able to access the files on D partition fine as well right?
~ thanks -
when you use an xp installation disk, the partitions on the drive will show up. you can install to the c: partition, for instance, and leave the d: alone. that being said, i would ALWAYS back up anything important before a operating system install. oh, and i agree with you on vista. xp runs sweet on my compal, i'm sure it will be good on yours as well.

yeah i was pretty sure that option would come but i wasn't sure d drive would stay because d drive configured with vista not xp but they are the same file format so i was pretty sure but thanks for assuring me.
For sure i am really picky when it comes to fps etc. I do pro level gaming for cod 4 . Kinda sad i use laptop but yeah best i got so fargetting sponsored by ati/amd soon so hopefully i can get a good desktop.
THANKS AGAIN !
Fed up with Vista going xp pro sp2 /help
