Stupid question. I would like to be able to send music, movies, docs. ect. directly to somebody over the web. I've seen software like 'FTP PRO' and others. Loaded them up, but just didn't get it or got lost. Would you have to exchange I.P. addresses to use them? Everybody else seems to be able to do this efortlessly but me. Like so many things, I must of missed a class somewhere, that everybody else in the world attended.[V]
    oh well....

Your on the right track, get some FTP software and setup your FTP site. Do a search on how to using google. It will take some work and research on your part to get it all going.

Actually, here's a programs that even easier to share files over the web.

    http://www.wfshome.com/

It's called WWW FileShare Pro. It's similar to setting up an FTP server/site, but a lot less config is involved. You generally just run this app on your system, point to the folders you want to give access to (where your files are located) and then give your friend your IP address and that's it. You can also enable security by putting in a username & password. It works great, but it's not free like some of the FTP programs out there.

Wow! this was exactly what I was looking for![ :D]
Thank you Venombite. I wouldn't be paying anybody for server space I could send them what ever my heart desires and it's just coming directly from my computer. Doesn't XP allow for this too? I swear I read about it somewhere.[?]

Also, thank you as well bootleg2go.
I did some researching and....learned a few things. In the future this is the way I wish to go.

    Once again, thank you both.
