In vista, I changed a bunch of permission settings on files important to me, so that only my password protected User account would use them.

Since I just downgraded to XP, I am unable to access them. I get this error when I click on a folder with changed permissions:
"E:\admin is not accessible. Access is denied."

Someone who knows/remembers more from XP please give me instructions on how to change permissions and switch owner users of files/folders so I can access this folder.

The Right-click/properties/security/ tab is gone from all folders on the computer, so I cannot do that.

I cannot switch to vista either, so I need some help with this. The files inside this drive are important to me and I need to access them in any way possible.

Thanks, but I used another way...I went to safe mode, and the security tab was there.

I will try to bring it back anyway.

You may be able to get access to them by simply Making an account with the same exact name and password as you had on Vista...I know for networking and file-sharing vista and XP machines, this works like a charm.
