I'm wondering if there is a way to take your own screen shots via windows media player or any other media player when playing a movie or mpeg file. I've tried using "prt sc" and the image always ended up blacked out for some reason. Thanks.![]()

VLC Media Player includes a "Screenshot" option.

Print screen doesn't work?
Go to www.download.com and look at image capturing applications. There are
plenty of free high-quality good ones out there.
Edit: Yup! Print screen doesn't work. Weird. Some copy-right protection thing I bet, or, Print Screen simply isn't
capable of capturing moving images. -
It's more likely to be because WMP (like most other video apps) uses a technique called Hardware Overlay. As such, Windows printscreen can't see the video... it's out of the loop so to speak.

I use VLC and it's much better than WMP (not only at screen shots, but also others)
