The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Firefox - Referrer problems - Can't use some websites.

    When I try and post on 4chan in firefox.

    Blocked referrer errors everywhere else.

    Currently the only addons I have installed that have relevance are noscript, refcontrol, and tor.

    I installed refcontrol to try and re-enable referrers, but even after forcing the website's address in the control panel, I still get similar errors.

    Could be Tor, some sites doesn't like it. At least I had similar problems with it.
    You could try latest Firefox 3.0 beta 5, after complete uninstall of course(and registry cleanup).

    4chan is pretty strict, it usually blocks my IP at random on some sections which i hate.

    Go on 4chan in safe mode, if it works, it's one of your addons so get rid of them one by one and see.
