Just to tell y'all, firefox 1.5 is out today. Get it here http://www.mozilla.com/

Didn't I update to FF 1.5 a week and a half ago?
-
what's the new features, cause it sure doesn't seem different to me.
-
I'm just hoping it is a little more stable. 1.07 would freeze up on me from time-to-time... so far, 1.5 seems more solid.

Basically, release candidates are similar to betas in that they aren't deemed to be stable/complete enough to release to the general public. These release candidates were posted so that people can try them out and report back any problems/comments before they do a final build.
I'd update to the latest version of Firefox just to be sure that your browser has all the latest fixes/updates. Feature-wise, the release candidates aren't that much different from yesterday's release. -

There were 2 alpha releases, 2 beta releases, and 3 release candidates before the major release yesterday. -
Sorry..I haven't seen it was already posted here
They posted it yesterday...

I merged this with a previous thread since it was related FF 1.5
SG -
it doesnt load pages fast for me
still the same as the previous version.
-
I've noticed that pages load faster for me as well. What I'm waiting for is Portable Firefox 1.5!
-
mine loads faster. I haven't done much research on 1.5 yet, so this might be a dumb question. Did anyone else lose their scrollbars?
-
I'm waiting for that little green arrow....why isn;t it showing up??
-
LOL, i miss it to. I keep trying to go over to the right to scroll out of habit.
-
Two improvements I noticed:
Forcing links to open in tabs rather than in new windows.
Clearing specified private data upon closing Firefox. -
Yes those are some new things.
I see the bars on my screen.
Maybe it recognizes your 9300 scroll bar on the mouse pad and it automatically doesnt show up. Just a thought. -
I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem or if it's been discussed in another thread... but I can never seem to use the scroll function on my touchpad with Firefox. Is there an option somewhere that I keep missing?
-
You need the latest touchpad drivers.
Most touchpads are by Synapstics, check their site.
http://www.synaptics.com/support/drive.cfm I believe -
I thought I had the latest drivers... guess not. Thanks, that worked.
-
Mine is also faster with loading pages.
I also use fasterfox -
yes with the 2nd one...but not the 1st
there is a setting that forces links to open in tabs rather than in new windows in the regular one..i've done it and been using it..or maybe it's tabbrowser extension...check it out!! -
I think it was an extension. "Open links from other applications in" was always an option, but "Force links that open new windows to open in" seems new.
-
So after using the new Firefox for two days, I've noticed an annoying problem. I get one of these every so often on various sites... nothing that a quick punch of the F5 key won't fix, but nonetheless, annyoing. Any thoughts on this?

I've been getting that "Server not found" screen *a lot* since going to FF1.5. It happens more often with sites that take a long time to download (myspace, gmail, etc) but it also happens surprisingly often just with Yahoo -- and on Yahoo it generally pops up almost as soon as I hit enter. Otherwise I'd think it was some kind of time out problem, but now I don't know. And yeah, as soon as I hit refresh, the page usually (though not always) pops right up. I'm almost tempted to go back to the old version........
-
I get them also. I like ff 1.5, but still haven't found a solution to the scroll bars
-
There really needs to be a way to adjust how long it takes for the browser to time-out a page and go to that darned screen.
-
Guys, I've been using "firefox like IE 7" for the past couple of days- this is the firefox version that looks just like IE and is available at firefoxie.net. i'm having issues when it does not start up at all sometimes but task manager shows that it is running in the background. duh? any help please?
-
the only thing i don't like is that some of the extensions i used aren't supported by 1.5 yet
