I just got this now... And how many people who updated to 3.0.2, find firefox a bit slower??
Or is it just me? or is it just the internet connection here? (though the connection speed tests returned normal results as I have seen before) -
I think its just you. My FF seems fine.
-
Can someone tell me how to install FF3 but be able to uninstall it and revert back to FF2 if I want to? I can't remember how.
I'm using FF2 and I don't want to keep FF3 if my add ons and theme aren't compatible the way I want it to be... -
well.. probably.. idk though.
Now it seems a little better, but at time' the pages get kinda stuck up when loading... or may be its the choppy internet. Anyway, no big deal thoughStill a happy firefox'er I am
Thanks McGrady. -
Maybe I'm not the best test subject. Though FF is primarily my main browser still, I have been playing with Google Chrome a lot lately. Haven't done my full browsing habits on FF 3.02 yet, just basics.
-
Ok fine. I've been using this now for few hours. I still feel its kinda slow and pages loading up some times in bits n pieces... puuufffffffff -
Yesterday I updated to 3.0.2 and since than FF crashes continuously.
Thinking of moving back to 3.0.1 or even 2.0.whatever -

Thanks for the info, updated.
Don't really notice much of a difference really. The icons look alittle smaller but that could be my eyes. -
Auto updated a hour ago. Seems OK.

It seems to early to tell but the one problem I was having appears to have been fixed. Prior to the update Firefox would crawl if I went to websites that used lots of Flash based ads on the site. So far it's not nearly as bad.
My browser would crawl so bad I would have to turn off JavaScript. Opera doesn't have this problem but I do prefer Firefox. So i'm pleased so far with this update.
Another problem I was having intermittently was Firefox was still running even though I closed the program. I would have to stop the process in Vista 32 Task Manager. It's an intermittent problem so i'll wait and see if that has been fixed as well with this update.
Isn't there a 3.1 update in the works for Firefox? -
my experience with the latest update is safe and sound. i'm enjoying it
-
Just upgraded myself. Zero issues thus far (no crashes or anything).

One link and another link and the roadmap -
hey AKAJohnDoe, what do you mean by the installation on my pc is broken. do mean FF or the OS?

I would probably uninstall Firefox (using Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs), delete the Firefox-related folders (under C:\Program Files\, C:\Program Data\, C:\Users\ username\AppData\Local\, C:\Users\ username\AppData\Roaming\), reboot, then reinstall Firefox from a fresh download. It is simplier to just make it right than it is to figure out what may be wrong.
If you have a number of bookmarks, add-ons, and such, you would probably want to document them before uninstalling so you could recreate them in the fresh install. It is usually an incompatible or bad add-on that causes these sorts of problems. -
Ok.. I tried to download the new version of CCleaner, from the direct download link (in the other thread), firefox crashed both the times I tried to download... it didn't close or respond.. had to end task / end process.. but it happened everytime the download was actually complete.. because when firefox was closed from task manager, the downloaded file was ok and it was downloaded well... I have no idea what this might indicate.

thank you mr.doe. FF is now up and running. now to wait for class to end so that i can finish the rebuilding process. (i am in class while typing this>_<)

Firefox 3.0.3 will be out next week to fix a small regression bug in Password Manager (non-ASCII data saved as something other than UTF-8 failing to convert back to Unicode) affecting IDN domains or non en-US domains. There is no permanent data loss risk.
-
so far so good. No crashed or errors yet...

Firefox 3.0.3 contains the following changes:
Fixed a problem where users were unable to retrieve saved passwords or save new passwords (bug 454708)
That doesn't deserve an update number. -

hmmm I upgraded to 3.0.3 and now I get this error whenever I try to run firefox.
"This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may ix the problem."
I tried re-installing it and that didn't help, and I cant uninstall it because it says it cant find the files when I try to :/ -
-
anyways, no issues though.
-
Had significant issues, had to download 3 times. Finally could not use FF. Used System restore to to get back.
