Should be available in December if all goes well. The second beta should be out any day now.

Also, for anyone still using Fx2... 2.0.0.18 came out at the same time as 3.0.4.

Is FF3.0.x slow to start for anyone?

Sometimes when I open FF it takes just a bit longer than normal to start. Other times it's quick-fast like a bullet!

No extensions or anything. Just a default set-up on 3.0.4

I have 3.0.4, 3.1b1, and 3.1b2pre installed, and all of them open in about half a second with a clean profile. With about 10 extensions installed, each takes about a second or a second and a half.

don't know what the problem was but it wouldn't run for me. it installed and opened, but didn't load pages. had to revert back to 3.0.3. Have comodo installed, maybe that's why. will give it a shot again.

I have Comodo also - and no issue here. Were you updating/upgrading or manually install it?

    cheers ...

I doubt Comodo is causing problems; I also have it installed. However, it could be blocking it from modifying files it needs to update, depending on your settings. Mine notifies me that FF is trying to create a new dir or modify files, and I have to approve it.

    updating thru firefox itself.

that's probably the reason. next time i do an update, i gotta be more careful, cuz comodo was asking me a bunch of stuff during the update.

updater.exe needed to be checked as "installer or updater" in the D+ pop up.

Yeah, but it has a bit of a learning curve. I highly suggest reading the help files thoroughly. If you decide not to install their anti-virus component, it will still be in the help files. It may also do it's own virus check before installing regardless of if you install the AV.

Thanks for the answer. I already use AVG, so is it still needed to installing comodo to improve security?

Comodo may or may not scan for viruses. I'm not sure since they've moved on to their Internet Security package. Either way, you'll want to disable all AV or anti spyware products upon installation of Comodo and any other running programs. If it happens to scan, you should be fine. It's just so the product doesn't set permissions for malware and is only a one time scan.
