Recently started having a problem with firefox 3.5. It automatically changes to "work offline" mode. It typically happens after I open a page and then click on a link on that page. The first page loads fine; the link displays an error saying that the page is not available offline. When I look at the file menu, it displays a check by work offline. I remove the check and try to load the page again. The same thing happens. The first page load but links on that page give me the same working offline error. I check again and sure enough it has switched to offline mode again. Any thought? Is there a way to totally disable "work offline?"

What program do you use to manage your network connections? Firefox loads the first page, but it's still in offline mode. It just loads a cached version. Firefox asks Windows what network connections are connected, and if Windows doesn't think any of them are connected, then Firefox won't, and it'll work offline.

Are you sure you're actually online? Does another browser work alright?

I think so. FF 3.5 is worth the update as far as performance and security, but watch out for some add-on incompatibility.

    cheers ...

Have you tried updating to FF 3.5.1 to see if that solves the problem?
