The release is not official, but some folks over internet have designed a theme that is really similar to the one planned as default in Firefox 3.7.

Here is the link with a complete installation guide: http://www.askvg.com/download-mozilla-firefox-3-7-mockup-theme-now/. There is just one mistake in this guide: in STEP 1, when it says "Its a ZIP file. Extract it using WinRAR or 7-Zip (both can be found in our "Downloads" section). You'll get a .ZAR file which contains the actual theme.", .ZAR is .JAR. The rest seems to be perfectly fine.

An example of how it looks in Vista:

The windows isn't maximized, because then there is no Aero transparency. In Windows 7 is transparent maximized or not. :) Start up time and memory usage keeps the same as default theme by the way.

    Hope you guys like it!

Thanks for posting the thread, but I am not thrilled with the look of it. I have seen similar themes, but don't like the look.

yeah, i don't like the button-spread. i have all my buttons at one place, that's how it's logical. all else is modern chaos ui not following any usability standards (like ie itself, which is shocking for me, as it's from a company who knows the standards well, a.k.a. microsoft.. but after delivering great with office 2007 they failed with ie and win7 on me. even 2010 is a stepback sadly..)

Agreed. Windows 7 and IE8 UI placement is not very convenient.
Judging on UI design, they are awesome and fresh looking. However, judging from usable or effectiveness, they are not awesome anymore.
I actually tweaked my Firefox using ASKVG solution long ago but with some exceptional of course.

i, too, like the style of the new firefox design. the buttons look gorgeous. but the layout, terrible.. but i've posted my design and layout often enough yet :)

7 isn't fresh looking, my vista looks this for years now :) but the taskbar is a chaotic ui-failure. still, people love it, so what can we do or say.. :)

off to sleep. btw, op, thanks for the info anyways :) good work from your side.

LOL~ My vista do look like 7 as well. But the taskbar is not that chaotic compared to 7 due to I didn't convert it entirely. All I do is change the "look" not the UI layout.

jep :) now get rid of the statusbar to have more vertical real estate and it's quite fine :)

then, get locationbar2 to have nice domain highlighting, and subelementsplitting, and it starts to get close to mine, as it is since years :)

    like that..

I prefer to keep the status bar visible, since there I have the WebMailNotifier icon and DownloadStatusBar mini icon too; but I also "want" the stolen pixels while viewing pages! My solution is the extension autoHideStatusbar, which keeps the bar hidden until you move the mouse over the corner. It lets you configure many things, nice extension!

The only thing that is missing in my setup is an extension which allows you to select a web addres as text, and right clicking lets you opening as a link. I don't know if I've explained myself right... I know it existed in previous versions, but it is not comptible anymore.

i have another one where i can double click a link, and it opens. text2link it's called, i think.

stuff yuo have in the status bar, i have in my taskbar instead. as i don't want to rely on my browser to inform me about non-browser stuff.

I prefer to keep this information down in the status bar, and upside just browsing related stuff. :)

About the status bar, 1 thing I hate was the All-Glass 2.0 Add-on causing the word "Done", the last alphabet "e" cut into half. LOL.
I tried to disable the status bar but without it, I don't know the status of the website and so on. Lastly, I enabled it again. =.=!

what "status of the website"? you see it, or, you don't.. what else you need? :)

else, get fission, to get info about the loading status in the adressbar.

the only apps where i use the status bar are visual studio and office, in all other applications, they are mostly useless space-eaters, firefox included.
