Has anyone given this a run? I'm interested to see what the differences are...especially if they fixed hardware acceleration.
You can find it here... Download Firefox 5.0 Beta 2 - FileHippo.com

Is there any way to install this without it messing up the current Firefox install? When I installed Firefox 4 beta, it changed my 3.6 install. After I uninstalled 4, 3.6 was 4. I had to uninstall it and re-install all over again.

It actually seems to be faster and smoother! I like it. Seems like they made the tabs taller with a box around the x, which is nice. Hardware acceleration still bonkers fonts. But it does seem overall quicker/smoother so it's all good.

I had to uninstall it because too many of many of my apps just would not work, even when I disabled compatibility checks. But this is looking good. Hopefully they shoot out the rc quick.

A simple different folder would do the job, keeping everything intact without clobbering your current profile.

As far as compatibility check you can use the Nightly Tester Tool extension to compensate.

    cheers ...

i've never tried out the nightlies before(with aurora atm and always stables before that). how is the stability and addon support* compared to aurora?

*i mean how well do extensions actually work? i manually disable the checking.
