This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Firefox 5 make serious problems !!!

    lately my laptop start to hang while using firefox browser ...suddenly screen stop and nothing work.....happened so many times....
    in the start thought my nvidia graphic card dying......sometimes think its confliction with microsoft.....do not know....... :confused:

    Ya, my Firefox will sometimes hang for a few seconds or so, pretty sure it's because of Flash. Started with 4.0.

    Try a complete reinstall of FF5. If that doesn't work, you can downgrade to FF4 (there is almost no difference anyway, tbh) or the last known working version.

    I'm having none of the issues you specify with the latest version of FF.
    Check if you have the newest version of Flash installed since FF does not auto update Flash. If that does not work, try re-installing the entire browser.

    Mozilla Firefox has specifically asked people to not make 6.0 their default browser yet

    Switch to Chrome, Opera, or IE9.

    Honestly, if you have to install an old version of your browser, which won't get security updates, it's not worth using.

    you say that like everyone with firefox 5 can't get it working.

    i can break chrome, opera, and IE9 too...

    i already installed IE9 and chrome.............but they are not compared to firefox.
    it hang especially if there is application for microsoft in the site like document.......or hotmail......

    If I said it like that... that wasn't my intention. I'm talking only to the topic creator. If he can't get Firefox 5 working, and his only option to use Firefox is to install an older version, he should just move on to a new browser.
