Hi.
I had a lot of problems with firefox 2.0 crashing sometime a dozen time a day.
Take my advice and download firefox 3.0 beta, I have never had a crash since.
I may not be compatible with you plugins or skins, but i can do without them.
Regards
John. -
I use FF2, FF3 crashed on me too much but FF2 wont even start up after installing coolirs piclens

Firefox crashes are usually the result of a bad add-on (or add-ons, plural). If you cannot get the add-ons to uninstall properly I suggest you uninstall Firefox, delete the profile folders, reboot, and reinstall Firefox clean.

Two things:
1. Are you sure it's PicLens? Try disabling all other add-ons, and only keeping PicLens, and see if this helps.
2. Did you check the official FAQ and Known Issues? here's the link:
http://www.piclens.com/site/support/bugs.php
A quote from the above:
(a) Conflict with Firefox add-on called CustomizeGoogle
PicLens may not work properly on Google Images if the CustomzieGoogle add-on is also enabled on your Firefox browser.
(b) Conflict with Firefox plug-in called RealPlayer Browser Record
PicLens will work only if the RealPlayer plug-in is disabled.
There may be more where those came from.
Hope this helps. -
Any error input on it? Or just closes itself?

Exactly it! but how would I go about disabling one or the other. Firefox crashes regardless if its 2 or 3 (just tried 3 beta 5 and same resault). Crashes right on startup

Hmmm.... Well, try navigating to your Firefox profile folder, here's how to do it:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles#How_to_find_your_profile
There should be a folder there called 'extensions'. I don't have Windows at hand just this moment, but on my Linux box it's there.
Browse through this extensions folder (there will be folders with strange names there, one per extension) and try to locate the CustomizeGoogle folder. I'd run a search in this folder and tried to find CustomizeGoogle text/string inside files, or something.
Just remove this folder and the extension should be gone. -

This is what FF3 beta 5 says. -
can you find anything in the error logs ?
i had a couple of crashes and the error log showed it was an add-on, dictionary unable to load. -
-
After a crazy 103 re installations of firefox I was able to get it to install firefox-safemode where I was able to start without extensions and remove the extensions conflicting
Cheers for the help admin you may close up the thread -
Good to hear you managed to fix this. I totally forgot you could start FF in safe mode with extensions and themes disabled.
-
Start up Firefox in safe mode with no addons, then remove piclens.
