I cannot play most videos in firefox. It shows a puzzle piece and says I need additonal plugins to play it. Then when I click to find the plugins I need, it says "No suitable plugin". Ive tried downloading the newest windows media player and quicktime. Its a brand new laptop (the one in the sig). What do I need to do to have firefox use one of the programs to view movies?

I've had that problem with flash when quicktime tries to overtake the association. There's a fix for it in the mozilla knowledge base

yea..i've fixed it...it's called something like WMD 1.5 plugin for windows media player...after that most of my files worked

    i found this here http://www.webuser.co.uk/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/289968/an/0/page/0

Look for the files in the Windows Media Player directory

    C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Plugins),
    npdsplay.dll, npdrmv2.dll and npwmsdrm.dll

    and copy them to

    C:\Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/plugins

    Same problem here as well.

Funny Mozilla/FF's web site for plug-ins makes no mention to get WMP working, instead there is a list of 'popular' plug-ins that I would call very marginal compared to this issue.

    Thanks LuckMc !
