I have the latest synaptics driver but I have a problem that is annoying that most people wouldn't care.

My scroll on my touchpad actually does work, but it isn't the way I want it. When I try using the virtual scroll in internet explorer, it would show a scrolling icon. But when I use firefox and I try scrolling, it wouldn't show the scrolling icon. The difference between the two scrolling is that I prefer the scrolling of firefox would continue to scroll even if you don't move your finger which is annoying. Is there a way to make the scrolling of Firefox like IE.

    Thanks

I'd guess there is some software that was preloaded with your computer which is responsible for this. Finding the control for that piece of software would seem like a good place to start. Who is the laptop manufacturer?

this is a long standing issue between ff vertical/virtual scroll and touchpads, regardless of laptop brands/models. Issues can be resolved by playing with different touchpads drivers, but it is quite bothersome.

still, try the suggestions in this
