After looking for half an hour why firefox crashes in youtube. I found the answer, by disabling windows silverlight plugin, youtube and firefox work flawlessly. Is Microsoft really up to something, its just way to coincidental for me.
-
Coincidental.
Though humorously, Windows Anti-Spyware beta detected Firefox as a threat. -
Something is going on and seeing that Microsoft owns a large share of the market they can just use windows update to cause conflicts with 3rd party programs.

I think windows anti spyware is a virus. unless you are talking about defender.

i have a problem too. When i my firefox is open for a while and then play music with windows media player music sounds weird like a broken speaker.I suspect that an add on is behind this...it is a conspiracy though...definitely

FF3.0.4 works just fine on YouTube, with Silverlight installed.
-
Not WinAntiSpyware, the Trojan.Vundo based spyware.
I was pretty sure there was something before Windows Defender called like Windows AntiSpyware or AntiMalware but upon farther consideration I think it's just Windows Defender... they've just changed the way it looks so much, so I was thinking it was something else. -
Firefox and Silverlight have worked fine for me.
However - I never used an add on in Firefox.
And: My windows Defender is deactivated - I've got Kaspersky Internet Security to do the job. ... -
I use Windows Defender, NOD32, have Silverlight installed, and use FF. I've never had any troubles with youtube or any other streaming video website.
-
one way to be sure is to disabling other plugins one by one, with silverlight enabled, and see if it was caused by some other plugins or combinations
cheers ... -
Juat thinking - I had FF crashing on the BBC iplayer - on I think Flash 9.
See if you've got the latest version of Flash player. -
How do you disable silverlight?
-
This is why I use only use XP for gaming. Linux for everything else.

You use Linux because "graycolor" has a strange problem with Firefox?
Hey, whatever floats yer boat.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
I just like the stability. Plus the fact that i don't get a BSOD all the time.

lol, get your windows-hating arguments current. BSODs are so early 90s and early 2000s. Now it's all about UAC, hard drive grinding, incompatibilities, WGA, and low performance.
On topic, I find Silverlight useless, so I never installed it.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Farg...your right, disabled Silverlight and alls well again (fast and stable)...WTH!
-
Not quite - I know windows update messed up my EOS drivers so it caused a BSOD on Vista - but anyway, that's off topic.

No problems here with Win XP SP3, FF 3.0, and Silverlight.
Oh and no BSOD's either. Maybe you guys just don't know how to manage Windows. -
Well if Windows Update messed up you EOS driver so you get a BSOD when you switch on your camera isn't really a managemant problem.
Also - if Kaspersky 7 suddenly decides not to work on your computer (happened to me, and disappeared just like that too) and causes BSOD...
Anyway.
Has the Firefox issue been solved now? I believe yes, isn't it? -
my FF crashes a lot on youtube as well. I'll disable silverlight and see what happens. thanks for the info
