Firefox is getting me so mad recently... there are so many problems like lagging when playing youtube videos, and can't save my tabs for the next time it starts ! even I changed the value into "true" on browser.showQuitWarning thro about:config .. which used to work but it suddenly doesn't anymore.... the pop-up message is will here, but it does nothing but going to my homepage for the next restart when pressing on the "save & quit" button

reasons i am still using it because of the bookmark column and the address bar which are more convenient to me compare to other browsers ....

so i m here to ask if anyone knows how to solve the 2 problems i stated above please ?

    thank you

First I'd delete personal data and retry.

Then I'd try running Ccleaner to delete all Firefox data including flash cookies.

If that didn't work I'd uninstall and reinstall Firefox....

Never had any probs with Firefox though it's my second browser to Opera.

Which computer are you running Firefox on and what O/S are you using and what are you system specs? Just giving general problems doesn't help unless we know what kinda hardware and software version your using to know much about what is going on?

it s a laptop running i7-2630qm and gtx560m for graphics, the "save and quit" is sorted.... just lagging in youtube cant be solved... videos worked fine in chrome... unfortunate not in firefox... it lags every few seconds of playing... :(

For YouTube lagging, you could try disabling/enabling Flash hardware acceleration, depending on whether it's on. Play a YouTube video, right-click on it, choose Settings, and uncheck/check Enable Hardware Acceleration. Might require restarting the browser to take effect. I think it's enabled by default now; I disable it on my laptop for the GeForce 8's sake.

Other than that, I'm out of ideas... haven't really had any trouble with either Firefox 3.6 or 10. Haven't run Firefox 17 or whatever the latest is.

Same here I use FF13.01 and don't get lag only if too many apps are open or running. I use Youtube on FF13 and it works just fine if I don't try to watch to many video then it runs ok and I have a Dell 1525. That lag could be something else taking up valuable memory space causing lags in FF to load and thus cause visual lags when you try to watch a video as you said that cleaning the download data and cookie could be that you need a large cache or set it's priority to clean out those data and cookie when you exit so you have a clean start each time.
