If both are running the same websites , which one will put the least amount of load on the processor ?
I don't care about memory usage, just interested in better battery life...
Firefox is running without any add-ons or other extra's , same for chrome , pure firefox against pure chrome

Anandtech did an article on this very issue a couple of months ago:

^^That was before Chrome supported third party extensions like Adblock, Chrome should be equal/better now.

I think the battery time difference will be pretty damn small :|...
As long as you dont do youtube ect.. Flash increases cpu usage a lot especially HD ^^ -
Firefox is.

Didn't ars do an article and it was IE on win 7 on a netbook was getting the best battery life?
I honestly don't think it is a significant decision. Just turning down the brightness one more notch will net you far more battery life than sweating over this decision. This is because the screen chews up far more battery than any of these browsers. -
Neither actually. It's called Opera.
-
Opera was actually listed as one of the lower ends of the test. -
Since they did that test Opera 10 went out of beta. And i can tell you it's *very* fast. And with Firefox, people are guaranteed to have at least one addon slowing down their browser. Opera has its "widgets" too, but frankly i never felt the need for any extensions. Fanboy's Adblock List is the only extra thing i apply to Opera.
