Hi everybody. I'll list here three problems that I'm having with firefox 2.0.0.6
- I was using firefox yesterday, and decided to organize my bookmarks. But whenever I closed and opened it again, all bookmarks returned to a previous state.
- After that, I tried to modify a random option, just to see if it was a bookmark related problem, or a general problem. The options also returned to previous state after close-reopen.
- Also, when I do close-reopen action, it takes a longer time to get the main window onscreen.
I ran anti-spyware and anti-virus, no infection found. Defragmented the disk too. Reinstalled firefox, problem still there.![]()
Any clues on what is my problem?
I'm also downloading the good old ubuntu, I can see my system asking for it![]()

You know. I'm thinking it's a possible bug with the new version of Firefox. Because interestingly enough, I've been having to reset my search in the top right search box every time I restart firefox.

ouch, good head up mathx. i cannot sort my bookmarks at all and cannot even move stuffs up & down from the bookmarks tab. Inside Organise Bookmark, i can move the items around. Gonna try to export and re.import and see if it helps
cheers ... -
Did you try running Firefox in safe mode? Also do you have any extensions/themes installed, as they could interfere with something. I personally haven't had this problem.
-
well, reinstalling ff got rid of the my issues. must be something i did wrong during the update
cheers ... -
Fixed it by doing a 'clean all, new install'.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get to the source of the problem, so I can't say what was the conflicting module (a plugin, a corrupt file...).
To Waveblade: did you still have problems with your search box?
Thanks everybody for the tips. -
Hey I have a question that is unrelated to this thread. IN spider 3000's sig block is a sign that says my IP address, internet company and OS I'm using. Is my system being hacked?

No, not really. At least I presume not. Since I do not see this in those posts it is likely www.danasoft.com, which I block. Mostly because it is such a damn big banner and it annoys me.

Heh. Sure... you're hacked. I'm going through your documents right now. I hope you can pick up on the sarcasm.
