    Hears the deal.
When I boot up Vista and try to open firefox "too soon"(before everything in the taskbar loads) firefox doesn't open. You see it trying to open but then goes dead. It shows up in the taskbar processes but when I try to end it, it doesn't end. And I cannot open up firefox until I restart and wait until everything is booted up. I know this does not seem like a big deal but it is very annoying. I have AVG, Spybot, and Zonealarm booting up.

I searched the internet today for about 30 minutes and could not find anything. I would appreciate the help.

    Thanks a lot.

Yeah, I tried that and the firefox.exe process doesn't get removed off the list. It's stuck there.

well, sometimes apps can be hung like "what u experienced with FF" n the only thing one can do is restart windows (vista or xp or 2k) - still this is a good tip for FF team if u were able to reconstruct the issue all the time. It would be interesting if u close down some of the startup process and see which one that would cause FF to choke

i could not duplicate ur issue on my comp, sorry

    cheers ...

    Has this always happened?

Have you tried reinstalling Fx with the latest version(2.0.0.9)?

It happens to me and a friend of mine as well...but only sometimes. it doesnt matter if everything is loaded in the taskbar....its just the first time you open it. sometimes it opens, other times it wont. you can see the process running, but you cant kill it. the only way is to reboot.

Yeah it is completely random. I am still getting information on the web about this. It is just extremely annoying. It will almost never open when I try to open it before most of the items in the taskbar are loaded.
