Every time I start Firefox it is like I am starting it for the first time.. If I sign on to NBR and click "remember me" it doesn't remember.

Its not just NBR either, my bank web site does the same thing.

You could have your settings on tools as auto remove all passwords and cookies ect...

I make sure it asks me, as I hate when I have to keep typing my passwords.

But in a way it is a good thing but annoying.

Go into Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Check 'Accept Cookies from site'; Check 'Accept 3rd Party Cookies'; In the drop-down box - Select 'Keep until expire'. (Clear Exceptions of NBR and the Bank site, if any).
Uncheck 'Always clear my private data when I quit FF' and Check 'Ask me before clearing private data'.

There is a setting in Firefox (Tools/Options/Privacy) to clear all private data on exit.

Likewise, if you are running CCleaner (or similar) you may be clearing this.

I just checked and everything was already exactly as you said it should be. Also I am not running anything like CCleaner.

I would do a fresh install then.

As I have no problem, and other people dont so maybe just a clitch.

    You got nothing to lose.

Also check in Tools -> Options -> Security - Is 'remember passwords for sites' checked ?
And also check the 'saved passwords' list, if there is any mention of NBR or the Bank site.

^ He can export an HTML, which would have (a backup of) all the BookMarks....

Most if not all user settings are stored in the Firefox Profile. To manage user profiles, run firefox on an MS-DOS command-line with firefox -Profilemanager and the profile manager window will come up which will allow you to create a new profile which you can then use. You can copy files from one profile to another so that you can carry your passwords or bookmarks over.

The profiles are in hidden directory areas and you have to make them visible if you want to do things like moving personal information from one profile to another.

Reinstalling Firefox usually doesn't change the profiles - if you want a complete refresh, you need to delete the profiles and do the reinstall.
