    Hi guys,

i just removed firefox totally from my system and re-installed it.

i guess too many extensions and usage had corrupted some files.

i backed up the AppData folder and Program files folder on External HD.

can anyone tell me how do i restore settings of add ons like Speed Dial, NoScript, Adblockplus, Session manager and most important.. About:config.

    already restored bookmarks

here is what i did mate :D

Create a new profile other than the default one .. then just copy the entire folder structure you have backup'ed earlier

then start firefox with option "firefox -p" then select the new profile you have created.

this should have restored all your previous settings

    more info : http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile

    Hope this helps :D

Most extensions that are at all configurable have the ability to backup their own settings, so I use that facility. There is an extension, FEBE, made for this purpose, but I have always found that the very reason I am doing a clean install precludes performing a full restore afterwards.
