    Hi,

    I need a replacement for Norton because it takes way too long and it consumes too much batteries when it boots up.

    What I need is a firewall and antivirus from the same company (for some reason I just prefer it better if they can work together). Any suggestions are welcome, and thanks ahead of time. :D

    Do you have an idea of how much resources it uses or how its performance is compared to other av/firewall software?

    Have you try their 2007 release like Norton Internet Security 2007? It is totally different experience than its predecessor, the 06 release. I installed it in Vista Business 32 bit and it does not become resource hog at all.

    Don't mind the solutions not coming from the same company. As far as i know they will work together without conflicts.

    Firewall : Windows Firewall or Zonelab's Zonealarm Free.
    Antivirus : Grisoft AVG or Avast! antivirus.

    On my system i use Windows Firewall and Grisoft AVG. Both do not take up much memory.

    Antivirus = kaspersky or nod32 (i prefer nod32 but they're pretty much as good as each other)

    firewall = comodo

    As far as I know, there are no free AV+Firewall combos. You'll need 2 separate programs, like Avast! + Comodo; there's usually no conflicts though.
