This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Firewire Networking In Vista

    Does is come standard? If not, is there a way to get it working?

    I was always told that if you wanted to network Vista, you had to buy a totally different version of it to the standard home, business, ultimate e.t.c..

    Having never tried it though, I may be incorrrect.

    It's standard with Vista i believe. I'm assuming this because it's standard with XP pro. Infact, I don't see how it CAN'T be standard. All you need are the firewire drivers, which come with vista and then run a network connection through it.

    Alas, networking over Firewire is no longer supported in Vista.

    Kind of odd when previous versions of Windows has supported it, but then again when was the last time you've seen anyone using a Firewire-based network connection? For me, never.
