The laptop in my signature was playing the Supreme Commander Demo when all of the sudden I get the BSOD which says page fault in non paged area. I've never had this error message so I have no idea what it means. Could someone enlighten me as to what could have happened and what I should do to prevent future problems? The laptop is less than 2 weeks old and I'm fearful that I'll have to send it back to the factory for repairs so soon.

BSODs with Vista is normal due to poor device drivers
Have you installed all Vista updates(Hotfixes too). What Nvidia driver version you are using?

169.04. I installed the performance and reliability patch yesterday and to date I've had no problems until just now. I'm wondering whether or not accidentally leaving my laptop connected to the mains for 8 hours (laptop completely off) and lifting it before switching it on to blow off dust screwed up my laptop...

I believe there was a patch from Nvidia & Microsoft that fix the problem where Supreme Commander use more than 2 gigs of RAM, which is exceeding the restriction for ram allowed to each program.

Unfortunately I got yet another blue screen, this time the error message was memory attempting to execute in non-executable memory. I've already installed the 2GB memory patch for applications so I'm unsure what the problem is this time around. Prior to this blue screen the game did a regular crash. something to do with one of the game engine files.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Avira's autoupdate feature is interfering with the game's operation. Currently I'm doing another disk check on my games partition to try and see if something comes up.
