Does anyone know of any utilities for fixing file headers that have corrupted? I have some JPGs that need this. I've already run the WD diagnostics on my harddrive, and it passes, so I'm not really sure what happened. If anyone knows of a fix, that'd be awesome.

What happened to them? And how do you know it's the header in particular that's corrupted? (And how do you mean corrupted)
Most likely, there isn't much to do. If the header contained easily reconstructed information, there wouldn't be any point in having it. -
Some programs read jpg's better without headers than others. Try out the GIMP or Paint.NET and see if they will open it better. I have run into issues where a program will save images with a bad header unfortunately, and some programs JPEG libraries aren't terribly resilient to out-of-spec info that really doesn't matter.

Heh, Photoshop is the program that was erroring them. One of my friends, who is even more technically savvy than I am suggested that the headers are probably all that need to be fixed to save them. No, I don't know what happened.

I used to have a full copy of something else that worked really well. Until i find that, try this out.

Again, try other programs. Try to open them in MS Paint. See if it works. Different jpeg libraries have different behaviors. And try root's suggestion there, seems like a nifty program.

any reason you didnt tell me about this before? -
uhh, because i was an idiot? I have a couple other ones but they are at home.
or else getting beat by tools caused me to lose some memory engrams? -
hahaha, you deserved it.
so far, working great. too bad i can't afford the real version. if i was smart, id dump all my photos into one giant folder, recover them at once, and then redivide them. then again, that might take almost as long as this way... (trial = 4 folders at once, which wouldnt be so bad if it didnt have to rescan the hdd every time) -
uhhh, you should be able to do the entire hdd with that version, as your just recovering images. the other thing is to rebuild other lost data
