I cannot format my flash disk, it says there is no disk!

I cannot fix errors either. It just died one day. and it's only 2 months old

    it's an a-data pd17

I have 2 of them , 1 works perfect and the other just started giving me these errors, maybe it got a virus or something from somewhere.

I am running the latest version of NOD32 always update :(

how can i format ?? or fix it?

This is how you prevent it...see diagram.

    Shut it off before pulling.

You know waht's weird? On my Eee, even without an SD card inside, it still shows up as "Removable Device" - so if I want to shut it off before pulling, I can do that, but I'll have to restart my computer to enable it back on. Any workaround for this? =\
