I'm hoping that someone around here can help me out with an issue that I'm having with my computer at work. I know the question isn't Notebook specific but I'm hoping that's not a big deal and if the thread needs moving to a different location please feel free to do so.

My problem is this: my computer at work, for reasons unknown to me has the primary hard drive (where the OS is located) installed on a drive designated with the letter I. 99% of the time this isn't an issue except when I go to view flash based content on the web. I can only view 3sec clips and even at that I get no sound. With the help of another tech guru we determined that this was a result of the WINDOWS or Program Files folders not having a C: address. I'd really like to avoid rebuilding this whole machine just so I can view non-work related material (Youtube, etc.) and that was the tech's only advice. So, anyone around here know a work around for this problem? I'm more than happy to supply additional details as required for troubleshooting, this is a fairly annoying problem to have. :)

    Thanks in advance.

    Nate

I don't know if this helps at all, but you can download Youtube videos in FLV format; that way you can watch the full thing. Here you go.

Thanks, I'll try that later on. It should would be nice to find a work around for all flash content though, it's everywhere now.

Maybe some Adobe Flash plugin settings you can change?

Simple solution, change the drive letter to "C".

You can't do that without basically destroying the functionality of the HD and every program installed on it. If it's a secondary drive with no OS information on it, yes, you change change the assigned drive letter. It's a big no-no with the primary HD though.
