I just downloaded Minefield (aka Firefox64) and was wondering if anyone knew of a working 64-Bit flash plug-in? Thus far I love everything 64-Bit, snappier then snappy, but this is an interesting snag.

Tip is you wanna run keep both 32-Bit and 64-Bit Firefox, make sure to change the name of the default install directory for the 64-Bit version to the 64-Bit Programs Folder otherwise you screw up your 32-Bit install. (Hint: Program Files (x86) is the 32-Bit folder, don't install 64-Bit programs there.) Also, since both instances are named firefox.exe (lazy programmers) you can only start one or the other, if you have FFx64 running and you try and start FFx86 it will run another instance of FFx64 and viceversa.

Besides the no flash thing, I think this is one of my favorite 64-bit finds yet, besides 7zip 64-bit. We need to start a sticky for good 64-bit programs for Windows Professional x64 and Vista x64.

Pretty much none. Adobe doesn't want to make one. Don't ask me why.

The thing I'm starting to hate about flash is that they're targeting the multicore generation a lot. Meaning that if you're browsing a heavily used flash website, then your CPU is going to do a lot of work. Makes my Celeron M look like a wimp. :/

That it does indeed. Not very funny when a www-page is a) slow like hell to scroll and b) makes your notebook's fans blow like they were going to die any minute.

Personally I just recently uninstalled the flash-plugin from my Opera/Firefox and going to keep it only at IE7. If some page absolutely requires flash and it is a page that has to be seen, then I will start IE for that page only, but other than that: no flash for those sites that use it.

    I'm having the same problem....

I went back to the 32 bit Firefox, Flash works now, but the Windows Media Plugin from:

    http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx

Which claims it works with Vista x64 doesn't work.

I install it but Firefox keeps on asking me to install it? The plugin does not seem to be installed into Firefox?

    Anyone have any solutions?

    Thanks!!

Where are you seeing an amd64 build of Firefox? I don't see this anywhere on the mozilla.com website.

Flash is made by Adobe and they don't have the x64 version as yet. Dunno why the hold up.

Same version I have, its great, just like IE7 x64, but same basic flaw, lack of plug-in support.
