Flash player running slow full screen in Windows 7

I'm unable to find any results for windows regarding this issue. Basically, I just upgraded to Win7 RC and flash player runs all the videos (youtube, hulu etc) very slow in full screen mode. The videos run perfectly fine under normal mode.

I'm thinking this has something to do with the graphics drivers, but I don't think i can upgrade the drivers available on my notebook because there aren't any available for Windows 7. Has anyone else encountered the same issue? Any help is appreciated.

P.S I'm running it on a Gateway 6860fx.

 

There are new GPU drivers available for your laptop and Windows 7.

Uninstall your previous Nvidia drivers in the Add/Remove programs panel. restart your computer, and install these new ones. That should help performance.

Oddly enough, when I was using Vista, full screen Hulu/YouTube stuttered badly unless I right clicked and selected low-quality mode. With Windows 7 it finally just works!

 

Thank you StormEffect. I wasn't aware that nvidia started releasing mobile drivers...this is great news indeed! I followed your advice and downloaded the 185.85 mobile drivers off nvidia. I then uninstalled the old nvidia drivers and tried installing the new ones...only to receive an error that there are no recognized devices available on my computer for these drivers.

I had to manually install the drivers using the device manager->update drivers method. Unfortunately, I'm still experiencing the same issues where flash videos stutter in full screen mode. I will continue playing with the video settings to see if something is causing it to stutter and slow down like this.

Your video card and/or motherboard can't keep up with the updates (data transfer) of an animated Flash content. It is important to have your motherboard and GPU drivers installed for Win7 (or Vista if not Win7 drivers, yet).

 

I'm having this issue too, albeit with a desktop machine, running Nvidea graphics (6600 I think).

Fullscreen HD flash worked OK under XP, but with Windows 7 its very jerky.

You are probably missing your motherboard drivers. The current version of Flash doesn't use the GPU to render anything, it's all on the CPU.
