New Sony laptops get consistently rave reviews except for the incredible preload of junk including demos, nagware, shareware, time-limitedware, advertisements, and much more. According to users, it takes a lot of effort and serious skills in the Registry to clean out the unit, but the result is speed improvement, stability, and recovery of gigabytes of disk space.
Some report that even a disk erase followed by a clean install is a problem, since Sony laptops are usually shipped with no restore disks - and making one from the machine results in restoration of all the junk.
I'm considering installing CCleaner and checking ALL options - turning my back and letting it churn. I'm not sophisticated enough to examine all the files and Registry entries that will be deleted, though I can export and save the registry before doing this...
What do you think?

Make restore discs and clean install.

I think Sony VAIO laptops are some of the best and definitely most stylish laptops, but they do come with a lot of trial software. Best solution is to perform a clean install and go to Sony's eSupport site to download and install all the drivers in one series with the Sony Download Taxi.

CCleaner alone would not help, since it does not remove those softwares unless you do so manually. It only removes temporary files. Like the others, I would recommend you reinstall Windows if a Windows Vista disc is included.

Best way (if you are in NA) is to get a clean DVD. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=201726

Crap Cleaner can help uninstall programs through Tools. I'd still do a clean install. You could just do the old built in add or remove programs thing in windows itself.
Flushing the Sony toilet (crapware on new laptops)
