Hi there... Im own a Samsung r560 and ive just did a clean install, where i placed vista 64x. Samsung does not support 64x at all.. but even though its working all but the "Fn" hotkeys
Vista got almost all shortcuts but itself but let behind the ones are the most important for me...
the backlight balance!!! (which should be Fn+ Up/down arrow keys)
and volume control Fn+left/right arrow keys
ive tried to install the keyboard program but it does not work... it keeps asking to run as administrator even though i run as administrator
please hot do i fix it?
fyi- im using vista 64x
all the best

How are you running it as Administrator? If you are relying on the fact that you have Admin rights under Vista, then that is not enough. You need to right click on the application and select "Run as Administrator".

yep... right click and "run as admin" .....

Two more options;
Right-click on the program, go to Properties, tell it to run in Compatibility mode for XP.
Talk to Samsung, ask for support.
Oh, and another;
Disable UAC, then run the installer. It might install successfully. Then turn UAC back on. Note that it may still crash, there is no guarantee that the program will work if you turn UAC back on, and UAC is important and needs to be on. -
Still the same problem even though trying to run as XP... nothing
i will try to get Samsung to help me out but i dont think they will after all im using 64.. and they dont support it yet -
Maybe I don't understand the problem, but isn't the Fn key bound through the bios? Vista shouldn't affect the key. That is how I understand it.

Only on some brands. On others, especially where there is some sort of onscreen display associated with the function key, a driver or axillary app is required.

Did you also try the "right click, select Run as Administrator" suggestion?
Gary -
yep...and nothing
"Fn" hotkeys
