I installed Folder Lock (great program) on my laptop and locked a few files. My laptop has just stopped booting for one reason or another. I removed my hard drive and using a USB enclosure connected it to my PC. The hard drive is fine, but I cannot figure out how to recover my folder locked files. The only solution in my head is to go find a laptop, pop in the hard drive, boot, and unlock the files. Anyone have any better/ more possible ideas? Thanks much.

Folder lock works on portable disks, does it not? Can't you just install it on your PC to unlock the files?

Incidentally, try pulling the battery and AC out of your laptop, then hold the power button for 30 seconds (with no power connected). Reconnect just the AC adapter and see if it will POST.

You may also want to try reseating you RAM (or booting off of one stick at a time if you have more than one SODIMM).
